This is Month 1, Day 14 of the 6 pack abs challenge and I am back again after that crushing post yesterday where I bounced back up in weight after the 10 day cleanse.
Today was following the analysis I did in that post so you might want to check it out, but basically, I am going to eat clean, no salt, no bread, and add more fats and possibly calories.
Seriously, I hope you enjoy it, are encouraged or motivated by it, or are my inspiration for the day!
If you missed the beginning of this series, you can see Day 1 here and wind your way through or you can use the link above to get to the main abs challenge.
On to day 14!
I lost 13 pounds and gained 4 in two weeks?
I weighed 194 pounds even this morning as I finished out day 14 and started day 15.
That’s 0.5 pounds more than yesterday and this was supposed to be my reset day… what?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – one day isn’t a weight that I count – if it is 194 again tomorrow I’ll start to worry my plan isn’t working, but for now I’m staying the course.
Plus, since I lost 13 to 190, if I lose back to 190 then that will be 4 more down and it counts as 17, right? Just kidding!
I SHOULD be kind of down right now after adding back weight, but strangely enough I feel even more motivated. I don’t normally feel that way so I’m thinking keeping track like this and sharing with people keeps it from stressing me out and allows me to stay focused on the plan! And taking action with some accountability!
Did I follow the plan?
Yes, I did. I actually had to eat more than I wanted and had to bring in some fat to get my total to around 30%, but I made it and I was super clean – I did have one pack of peanut butter crackers early afternoon because I was carb crashing like crazy. No biggie, but I’m thinking the details like this are adding up. Got to get CLEAN!
I ate a lot of clean protein, more vegetables and a lot of fruit. Being consistent and having a meal plan and nutrition plan keep me moving in the right direction.
I am wondering if I need to catch up with some of my Twitter friends or local bodybuilders/physique/fitness/bikini friends and get a true cutting diet going. What do you think?
Today’s food plan and tracking for 6 Pack abs progress:
- Today’s Weight beginning of day – 193.5 pounds
- Today’s Weight end of day – 194
- Goal progress plan vs actual – Goal 194.5 – Actual 194 so down 9 pounds overall and 0.5 below goal.
- Potential pitfalls specific to today
- Both my daughters are in LATE practices today – will have to really plan around that for dinner
- Move is done, but unboxing and moving stuff around is crazy – up late every night! Not good.
- It is stressing me knowing I dropped a lot and added back, but not as much as usual.
- Opportunities specific to today
- There are always people walking, crunching, etc at my kids practices – I will join in!
- Working late so I’m going to type this on the treadmill while I get a few miles in walking.
- My Twitter support has been great. A few people keep me going and encourage me a lot!
- Workout this morning and the bonus miles today got me really motivated.
- Should have another weight drop just due to increased water and lower sodium on my second day after the reset.

- General Observations and plans for tomorrow
- Progress is slow. Need to stay patient and follow the plan closely!
- Still taking action!
- Still seeing some good support messages from Twitter and this blog. Going to need it so thanks a lot everyone!
- This weekend is going to be crazy tough – back to Nashville – taking my girls to Ed Sheeran concert! Fun, but tough on diet and exercise.
Thanks again everyone for all your encouragement and support. The people on Twitter and their stories have been incredible – keep em coming!
