Battle of the Bulge
Anyone who has spent time in the gym has heard the expression, “Go heavy or go home.“
After all, as any red blooded 40-ish knows, if a little is good for you then a lot must be great!
The Power Lifter
Years of heavy lifting has been awesome! Stronger than most men regardless of age and what a great feeling when you throw around some weight and hit new goals…
After 20+ years of lifting and exercising and now that I am 40ish, I’m beginning to see a perspective change. Actually, it reminds me of a commercial we (Gym Rats) often laugh about. Maybe it hits too close to home…
If you could be anyone…?
Who garners respect in the gym? The massive power lifter or the cross fitter/runner guy?
Of course, the one who’s clanging the metal plates while benching 3 wheels for reps!
Which of these two do you think is the first one pulling the shirt off at the pool, on the boat, or at the beach?
You guessed it. The rubber skinned runner boy turned cross fit fanatic with the trim waist and abs.
Which of these do you think catches the eye of every gal within gawking view at the neighborhood pool?
You guessed it again… abs of steel.
When it is real life “show time” does anyone looking give a damn what you can bench?
Not for a second… well maybe some NASCAR fans.
We all agree you need some level of muscle. No respectable 40ish wants the body of a 15 year old!
No contest. Be the best of both!
Given the change in the air and another summer always just around the corner, it is high time to work what is really important and stop avoiding the much needed abs and cardio.
Time to change from drinking my 6 pack to wearing it daily.
Question of the day… When you pull the shirt, are you going to love it or suck it? (in)
I have yet to hear the guy with the gut scream out his bench press max when pulling his shirt. Plus it’s hard to scream when you are using what little ab muscle you have to suck in that one pack!
See you at the pool. Real soon. Fat boy.
